It’s always such great fun photographing ethnic wedding ceremonies. Both Irrena and Martin’s families are from Bulgaria, so all their wedding festivities come with unique traditions. To start, the groom and some relatives came over to the bride’s house to take her to the ceremony. First he had to buy his way into the house and then after finding the bride he had to find her shoes and fill them with money. After the wedding ceremony there was the breaking of a special bread, various toasts, kicking over a ceremonial container of water and money dances. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves eating tradition foods and dancing.
